It’s an age old dilemma. How do you save your seat in a casino, bar, crowded restaurant or a general admission sporting event? Most of us put a coat on a chair, run real fast and hope it’s still there when we come back, or ask a person nearby to watch my seat.
We are all in these situations countless times every week. There should be a better way.
Now there is!
The idea for Watch My Seat came to me when I was in a local casino. I needed to cash in my tickets but I still wanted to play the same machine when I got back. I asked a person seated nearby to watch my seat for me but when I returned, not only was that person gone, but someone had taken my place. I thought….if only there was a sign I could put on my chair to let people know that I would be right back. The next time I went to the casino I made a plain paper sign on my computer. It worked but it wrinkled easily and was hard to handle. Next I tried different materials and found that high quality microfiber that was the perfect fabric. It is soft, dense, and didn't wrinkle. I had a local artist do a cute graphic and Watch My Seat was born. I found that when I used my seat saver fellow patrons were constantly stopping to make positive comments and even the casino staff was interested. Since then we have done research in many different settings and in all but a few cases the seat has remained available to us upon our return.
Watch My Seat very quickly evolved into a full time business. Catering initially to the casino market and then to the restaurant and bar industry and beyond.
